To assign security levels to preparers on 1040-SL web-based software, follow the steps below:

  1. From the main screen, go to Configuration

2. Go to Security Templates

3. Click + Add Security Template

4. Give the template a name of your choice.

5. Check or uncheck the items that you want your prepare to have or not have access to.
(Hover your mouse over the item for more information about it.)

6. When done, click Continue

7. Click +Assign.

8. Check the preparer(s) you want to assign the template.

9. When done, click Continue
