EF Message 6132 – Missing State Info on Form W-2G

EF Message 6132 appears when state amounts are entered on Form W-2G, but the required state identification fields are missing.

Why This Happens

This error occurs when:

• An amount is entered on line 14 of Form W-2G (state winnings or state withholding),
  and

• One or both of the following are missing on the W2G screen:

  • State code (ST)

  • Payer’s state ID number

How to Clear EF Message 6132

1. Open the return.

2. Go to Screen W2G.

3. Scroll to the State Information section.

4. Enter:

   1. ST (State Code)

      • Use the standard 2-letter abbreviation (for example, NY, CA).

   2. Payer’s State ID Number

      • Enter the state tax ID shown on the W-2G form.

5. Recalculate the return.

EF Message 6132 should clear once both fields are completed.
