How to Transfer a Return from 1040-TW Desktop to 1040-TW Online

This guide explains how to move a current-year return from 1040-TW Desktop to 1040-TW Online.

Before You Start

1. Confirm the return is for the current year.

2. Confirm both 1040-TW Desktop and Online use the same EFIN.

3. Confirm you are using an admin account in 1040-TW Online.

Part 1: Send the Return from 1040-TW Desktop

1. Open the return in 1040-TW Desktop.

2. Go to Main Info and review the return.

3. Click Diagnostics on the toolbar.

4. Resolve all diagnostic issues.

5. Click Mark to Transfer in the diagnostics window.

6. Click OK to confirm.

7. Click Close Return.

8. Log in as ADMIN in 1040-TW Desktop.

9. Go to Communications.

10. Click Transfer to 1040-TW Online.

11. Check the box next to the return you want to send.

12. Click Send to transfer the return.

Part 2: Retrieve the Return in 1040-TW Online

1. Log in to 1040-TW Online with an admin user account.

2. Go to View More Actions.

3. Click Select to Import Returns.

4. Check the box next to the return you want to import.

5. Select the user who should receive the return.

6. Click Move to complete the import.
